A charming throwback video featuring Kareena Kapoor at her sister Karisma Kapoor's wedding is making rounds online, following the recent demise of Karisma’s former husband, Sunjay Kapur.
The clip, which was recently shared by the Instagram page Jaggernaut, is part of a compilation showcasing some of Kareena’s most memorable and candid moments. The video captures a young Kareena casually adjusting her dupatta in the background during Karisma and Sunjay’s wedding ceremony, unintentionally drawing attention to herself. The caption playfully states: “Me being the main character at my sister’s wedding.”
In response to the video, Kareena commented, “Enjoyed this. Thank you,” a simple acknowledgement of the nostalgic post, which fans are now viewing as a glimpse into happier times.
The emergence of this video coincides with the recent passing of Sunjay Kapur, who died on June 12, 2025. The news of his death has been met with shock and sadness within the industry and beyond. While Kareena has not released a public statement regarding his passing, the resurfaced wedding video has evoked a range of emotions online.
Karisma Kapoor and Sunjay Kapur were married in a grand, yet intimate ceremony in Mumbai on September 29, 2003. The couple welcomed two children, Samaira, born in 2005, and Kiaan, born in 2011. However, their relationship deteriorated, leading to a highly publicized divorce that concluded in 2016, during which both parties made serious allegations.
Following the divorce, Sunjay Kapur married Priya Sachdev in 2018, and they had a son, Azarius. Priya also has a daughter, Safira, from a previous marriage to Vikram Chatwal. Karisma Kapoor's recent work includes her appearance in 'Murder Mubarak', which garnered mixed reviews.
