The friendly, divided into three 30-minute periods, was intended to be confidential. However, a Luzern youth player shared clips of the game on TikTok, revealing the shocking scoreline and quickly going viral. The video, reportedly viewed over 70,000 times before being deleted, featured prominent players like Juventus forward Alisha Lehmann and Alayah Pilgrim. Lehmann is known for her significant social media presence, with nearly 17 million Instagram followers.

This isn't the first time the Swiss team has faced younger opponents in preparation for the Euro. They previously lost 2-1 to FC Solothurn’s U-15 side but managed a 2-1 victory against FC Biel’s U-15s.

The Swiss Football Association has attempted to downplay the significance of the result. Spokesperson Sven Micosse explained that such matches against junior teams are common in women's football, emphasizing their role in building competitive spirit and focusing on the physical aspect of training. He stated, "Regardless of the result, these training matches are very similar to our international matches in terms of intensity and mileage."

Switzerland, as the host nation, has automatically qualified for Euro 2025. Their next match is a formal friendly against Czechia on Thursday, followed by their tournament opener against Norway on July 2.
